*from 'Songs in the Key of Life' (1976)*
*CAPO 4th FRET*
(Original Key: B)
[Intro]
Gmaj7Do G7do do Cmaj7do, mmm-mmm-mmm,
Gmaj7Do G7do do, do Cmaj7do do.
[Verse 1]
As a-Gmaj7round the sun, the G7earth knows she's re-Cmaj7volving,
And the Gmaj7rosebuds know to bloom in early Fmaj7May.
Just as Gmaj7hate knows love's the G7cure; you can Cmaj7rest your mind asC6sure,
That Em7I'll be loving F#m7you B7al-Em7ways.Em6  Am  D7
[Verse 2]
As now Gmaj7can't reveal the G7mystery of to-Cmaj7morrow,
But in Gmaj7passing will grow older every Fmaj7day.
Just as Gmaj7all that's born is G7new, you know Cmaj7what I say is C6true;
That Em7I'll be loving F#m7you B7al-Emways.
[Chorus 1]
EmUntil the B7/F#rainbow burns the G6stars out of the A7sky, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#ocean covers G6every mountain A7high, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#dolphin flies, and G6parrots live at A7sea, (always).
EmUntil we B7/F#dream of life and G6life becomes a C#9+11dream.
[Bridge 1]
Cmaj7Did you know that true love asks for Gmaj7nothing?
Cmaj7Her acceptance is the way we Fmaj7pay.
Cmaj7Did you know that life has given Gmaj7love a guarantee?
To last through for-Am7ever another Bsusday.B  Am9  D13
[Verse 3]
Just as Gmaj7time knew to move G7on since the be-Cmaj7ginning,
And the Gmaj7seasons know exactly when to Fmaj7change.
Just as Gmaj7kindness knows no G7shame; know through Cmaj7all your joy and C6pain;
That Em7I'll be loving F#m7you B7al-Em7ways.Em6  Am  D7
[Verse 4]
As to-Gmaj7day I know I'm G7living, but to-Cmaj7morrow;
Could make Gmaj7me the past; but that I mustn't Fmaj7fear.
For I'll Gmaj7know deep in my G7mind; the love of Cmaj7me I've left be-C6hind;;
That Em7I'll be loving F#m7you B7al-Emways.
[Chorus 2]
EmUntil the B7/F#day is night and G6night becomes the A7day, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#trees and sea just G6up and fly a-A7way, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#day that 8xG68x8 is A74, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#day, that is the G6day that are no A7more, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#day the earth starts G6turning right to A7left, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#earth just for the G6sun, denies it-sA7elf, (always).
EmUntil dear B7/F#Mother Nature G6says her work is A7through, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#day that you are G6me and I am A7you, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#rainbow burns the G6stars out of the A7sky, (always).
EmUntil the B7/F#ocean covers every G6mountain A7high, (always).
[Break]

Ah We all Emknow, some-B7/F#times life's hates and G6troubles,A7
Can make you Emwish you were born in a-B7/F#nother time and G6space.A7
But you can Embet your life, times B7/F#that, and twice it's G6double;A7
That God knew ex-Emactly where he B7/F#wanted you to be G6placed.A7
So make sure, Emwhen you say you're B7/F#in it, but not G6out of it,A7
You're not Emhelping to make this Earth a B7/F#place sometimes called G6Hell.A7
Change your Emwords into B7/F#truths, and then change G6that truth into A7love,
And maybe our Emchildren's grandchildren,
And B7/F#their great-great grandchildren will G6tell. A7Ahh I'll be lovin you
