Note: the many tabs already submitted here sound terrific and are likely more accurate
(based on the actual sheet music released by the band itself, I might add), but many years back I
scanned these pages for a 'start,' but wound up picking out some bits of the song as I prefer to
play it by ear.

What follows is that acoustic version, which while I'm certain not everyone will agree,
has always felt and sounded like a "full" 6-string/1-voice representation of the song.

Floyd's own sheet music does show an open 2nd/B string in their tab for the verses, which is
somewhat closer to most tabs I've seen here (Open B on the 2nd string)... Some may hear that
the 'G' of the 1st string doesn't sit there through each change of the verse, but in fact steps
down to F#, F, etc. My own variation is based more upon what I felt rounded out the notes of the
verse, though I don't dislike the open B on the 2nd string as I've seen it shown in other
tabs...just a personal preference.

One last note, which I found the Floyd sheet music did get correct, but many tabs missed, is the
chord changes in the chorus: Some show a G / G7 / C / E(??) / Am - some others skip the E and miss
the vital B step-down to Am. One last key difference from the sheet music (and other tabs) was where
I've always heard/played a standard Am, they show an Am7. Seems we're all picking out the same chord
regardless of what they say!

Enjoy and your feedback is appreciated!

[In the actual song, the Piano & Guitar Solo happen here]
  - feel free to play through the Chorus chords once (or x3 - twice for piano, once for guitar solo),
but only if you aim to replicate perfectly, otherwise continue straight on to the 3rd verse

>3rd Verse<

Fire bright by candlelight with her by my side -

If she prefers we will never stir again.

Someone sent the promised land, and I grabbed it with both hands.

Now I'm the man on the inside lookin out -

>Final Chorus<

        G G7 C C/B Am
Hear me shout, "Come on in!" What's the news? Where you been?

               G G7 D7 (D9) D7
'Cause there's no wind left in my soul, and I've grown old...

[Repeat Chorus chords and End. In the album version they simply fade out quickly around a G chord while the
 band improvises around it.]
