This song tells the story of a young man who asks his girlfriend's father for permission to marry her, only to be refused. Despite the father's denial, the protagonist declares his intention to marry her anyway, fueled by indignation. While the song's plot centers on this defiant proposal, it was originally inspired by a "dark vibe" and a "mean time" in lead singer Nasri's own past relationship where both parties were being rude to each other. At its heart, it captures the feeling of pushing forward with love even when faced with opposition.
