The story behind the song

"Any Major Dude Will Tell You" offers comfort to a friend navigating a difficult time, with lyrics that provide encouragement from one friend to another. The song captures a smooth, laid-back vibe that evokes the California sound of the 1970s. The title phrase itself emerged from the band's experience of hearing people use "dude" after moving to Los Angeles, which they found amusing and worked into their writing. Though typically a collaborative effort, this song is a rare instance where one of the band members contributed only to the lyrics. It plays like a warm, understanding embrace set to music.
