The story behind the song

"Holyman" takes aim at those who believe their religious views are the only correct ones. The song is part of Blind Melon's debut album, which features a blend of alternative and Southern rock with a '70s retro-rock feel, and showcases high-pitched, scratchy vocals. This track, along with others on the album, criticizes aspects of religion. When playing "Holyman," you're channeling a feeling of defiance against narrow-mindedness and an assertion of individual perspective.
