The story behind the song

This song began with lead singer Chad Kroeger improvising loudly after an argument with his then-girlfriend, hoping she would understand how upset he was. He quickly fleshed out the lyrics, melody, and chords, intending it not as a vengeful anthem but as a sarcastic look at relationships. The band then worked together to complete it for their album Silver Side Up. At its heart, it plays like a raw expression of frustration and irony within a relationship.
