The story behind the song

This song emerges from Jimmy Buffett's world of "island escapism," where life's passions are embraced. It's a journey into a tropical music sound that blends country, rock, folk, and calypso. The song itself, appearing on the album A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean, invites you to channel that spirit of enjoying life and following your heart. It plays like a narrative of intense, perhaps forbidden, desire set against a vibrant backdrop.
