The story behind the song

This version of "As Tears Go By" comes from Avenged Sevenfold, a band known for their diverse rock sound and dramatic imagery, who emerged with a metalcore sound and later evolved into a more traditional heavy metal style. The song itself was an early composition by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, written under specific instructions to create a song "with brick walls all around it, high windows, and no sex." It was originally titled "As Time Goes By" before the manager changed "Time" to "Tears."
