"Confused" comes from an album Kid Cudi described as "100% the purest form of my artistic self," where he "ripped my heart out and carved it into tiny pieces of musical madness." He dedicated the album to "everyone struggling with mental disorder all around the world," suggesting the song delves into the complexities of internal struggle and emotional landscapes. As you play, you can feel the raw, self-produced guitar and bass, which Cudi himself played, adding to the deeply personal and authentic expression of the track. It plays like an intimate exploration of inner turmoil, laid bare through music.
