"Joanne" is a deeply personal song from Lady Gaga's album of the same name, inspired by her late aunt, Joanne Germanotta. The lyrics explore Joanne's death from the perspective of Gaga's family, reflecting on the profound impact her aunt had on them and the grief that lingered. Gaga intended the song to offer healing to anyone dealing with loss and pain, aiming for it to resonate beyond her own family's experience. This stripped-down, acoustic country song became a focal point for the album's musical direction. At its heart, it plays like a tender, shared remembrance of a loved one.
