The story behind the song

Nirvana, founded by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, became a defining band of the Seattle grunge scene, popularizing alternative rock with their dynamic sound. Their music often features stark contrasts between quiet verses and loud, heavy choruses, reflecting a punk aesthetic fused with pop melodies and themes of abjection. Playing "Very Ape" means tapping into that raw, influential energy that continues to shape rock culture.
