The story behind the song

"On The Beach" captures the essence of a deeply personal and romantic moment, inspired by the Spanish island of Formentera. It's about the place where Chris Rea and his wife truly became a couple, a setting he described as being "between the eyes of love." This song, from his 1986 album of the same name, evokes the feeling of that special island and the profound connection forged there. Playing this song is like channeling a cherished memory of love blossoming in a beautiful, sun-drenched locale.
