Song: A Letter to Elise
[Intro]
A   E   F#m   Dx3
[Verse 1]
oh AElise it doesn't matter what you Esay
I just can't stay here every F#myesterday
like keep on acting Dout the same
the way we act out
Aevery way to smile
forget
and Emake-believe we never needed
F#many more than this
Dany more than this
[Interlude]
A   E   F#m   Dx2
[Verse 2]
oh EAlise it doesn't matter what you Edo
I know I'll never really F#mget inside of you
to make your Deyes catch fire
the way they should
Athe way the blue could pull me in
if they Eonly would
if they only would
at F#mleast I'd lose this sense of sensing somethDing else
that hides away
Afrom me and you
there're worlds to part
with Eaching looks and breaking hearts
and F#mall the prayers your hands can make
oh DI just take as much as you can throw
Aand then I throw it all away
Eoh I throw it all away
F#mlike throwing faces at the sky
like Dthrowing arms around
Eyesterday
I stood and stared
wide-F#meyed in front of you
and Ethe face I saw looked back
the way I F#mwanted to
but I Ejust can't hold my tears away
the F#mway you do
[Bridge]
ElGise believe I never F#mwanted this
I Gthought this time I'd keep all of my F#mpromises
I Gthought you were the girl always F#mdreamed about
but I Glet the dream go
and the F#mpromises broke
and the make-believe ran Eout...
[Solo]
E   F#m   E   Dx2
A   E   F#m   Dx3
[Verse 3]
so EAlise
it doesn't matter what you Esay
I just can't stay here every F#myesterday
like keep on acting Dout the same
the way we act out
Aevery way to smile
forget
and Emake-believe we never needed
F#many more than this
Dany more than this
[Outro]
and Aevery time I try to pick it Eup
like falling sand
F#mas fast as I pick it up
it runs aDway through my clutching hands
and there's Anothing else I can really do
Ethere's nothing else I can really do
F#mthere's nothing else I can really do
at Dall...
