Hit me up with 5 stars if you like this tab or you learned something.
Ok, so the other tab made this song way more complicated than it actually is. I listened
to this song all day for two days and in the end it blew my mind how simple the tab is.
What makes this song so catchy and entrancing are its two simple chords and its 3/4 time.
Just remember that the time signature is 3/4. If you're a beginner that just means that
it feels like a waltz. Listen to the song and you'll feel it, just count "one, two,
three; one, two, three; one, two, three" you'll have it in no time. You play each chord
for four measures and then switch for four measures.
Beginner version:
G320033
Dxx0232
Stroke on 1, 2, 3
once you've got that try to stroke on 1, 3
Moderate version
G320033
Dxx0232
Dmaj7xx0222
Stroke on 1, 2, and of 2, 3
and whenever the chord reads "D" just alternate D and Dmajor7 every measure (count of
3). It's easiest if you bar the 2nd fret (G, B, and E string) for Dmaj7 and just add your
middle finger on the B string to resolve to D.
Challenge version
You'll notice that there's a note that climbs and drops throughout. That's just a B, C#,
D, C#, Band you can play it all on the B string. In the original I think it's two
guitars, but if you're hardcore and have big hands you can do it with the G chord. Just
like the alternating D chords, you switch each measure and it flows nicely into the
alternating D chords which work on the same climbing and descending notes.
G320003
G320023 (yes it's a tritone, get over it, it sounds awesome)
G320033
Or you can make it easier by making it into a G9 chord by leaving the high 'e' string open.
EADGBe
GSometimes the edge
Serves as more than a friend
Than you, Dthought it would be
GAnd the pages you write
In your, journal each night
Are your oDnly release
And the Gmask you put on
It's like words in a song
But there's Dmore to be seen
And the Gfailures you see
Don't seem failures to me, here at allD
GOh I'm begging you noD
There's Gmore life left tDo go
GOh I'm begging you pleaseD
Cause I Gdon't want Dyou to leave
GAlone as you walk
Through a crowd and its awkward
Like nobDody sees
And you Gcan't help but wonder
Would anyone come after youD
If you'd leave
So a Gpain grows inside
And a fear comes alive
Like you'll Dnever be free
But there's Gno pain you feel
That I know love can't heal here at Dall
GOh I'm begging you noD
There's Gmore life left to goD
GOh I'm begging you pleaseD
Cause I Gdon't want you to leaveD
To leave me here on my ownG
There's nothing to run fromD
Oh There's nothing Gbut fear inside yDou
Oh GI just hope I can find yoDu
And Gtell you that I know you'll smile againD
GOh I'm begging you noD
There's Gmore life left to goD
GOh I'm begging you pleaseD
Cause I Gdon't want you to leaveD
