The story behind the song

"Major Minus" is a dark, villainous piece inspired by the novel The Road, depicting two individuals fleeing a Kafkaesque or Orwellian environment. The song takes its name from a fictional character created by the band, embodying various media oligarchs and politicians. It was one of the first tracks recorded for the 2011 album Mylo Xyloto, initially titled "Silencia." At its heart, the song channels a sense of urgent escape from oppressive forces.
