The story behind the song

This song captures the universal plea to be truly seen and understood, born from a temporary falling out between Horace Ott and his girlfriend. It speaks to the frustration and heartache of having one's intentions or character misinterpreted. The Animals, known for their gritty, bluesy sound, brought a rock-edged intensity to this classic, making it one of their prominent hits. When you play it, channel that raw emotion of wanting to be known for who you really are, despite outward appearances.
