This song delves into a fascinating double meaning, drawing its title from an article about shooting but interpreted by its writer, John Lennon, as a metaphor for both guns and his intense sexual desire for Yoko Ono. The lyrics themselves are a collage, pieced together from three different song sections, reflecting surreal imagery inspired by an acid trip and moving through themes described as "the Dirty Old Man," "the Junkie," and "the Gunman." It's a complex piece, known for its challenging rhythmic structure and shifts in time signature, showcasing the band's collaborative effort despite tensions during its creation. Playing it means channeling a blend of raw desire, fragmented thoughts, and a touch of the absurd.
