Lyrics and compositions © their respective songwriters and publishers.","tab_id":76727,"song":"Mitchell Tunings","artist":"Joni Mitchell","content_type":"chord","tab_type":"Chords","url":"https://www.free-chords.com/song/76727-mitchell-tunings-chords-by-joni-mitchell/","api_url":"https://www.free-chords.com/api/v1/songs/76727?type=chord","rating":4.872,"votes":59,"content":"                           JONI MITCHELL TUNINGS\r\n                        -----------------------------\r\n\r\n                                               written by Howard Wright\r\n                                               spxhaw@uk.ac.cf.thor\r\n\r\n\r\nI thought I'd put together a little piece on Joni's tunings because I've\r\nrecently worked out quite a few of the tunings she uses, and it's easier\r\nto list them all in one place than try to TAB them all separately.\r\n\r\nI hope to get round to tabbing at least a couple of the songs mentioned\r\nin full, but it takes time so I thought I'd write this first to give the\r\nbasic info.\r\n\r\nTwo 'standard' tunings which she has used quite a bit are the open G and\r\nopen D tunings.\r\n\r\n\r\nOpen G is (from low to hight) : DGDGBD\r\n\r\nOpen D is (low to high)       : DADF#AD\r\n\r\n\r\nI say 'standard' tunings because these have been used by a lot of people.\r\nThe open G tuning is used a hell of a lot by Keith Richards for example.\r\n\r\nAnother favourite of hers is a variation on the open D which I call the\r\nDadd9 tuning.\r\n\r\nIt is   :  DAEF#AD\r\n\r\n\r\nThere are also a couple of other tunings I've worked out, though I've only\r\nfound her using them on one particular song.\r\n\r\n\r\nAnyway, here is a list of songs with their appropriate tunings.
